Education

Ph.D. Computer Science and Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI

M. Mus. Jazz and Improvisation, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI

M.S. Computer Science, Ohio State University, Columbus, OH

B. Mus. Jazz Composition, Ohio State University, Columbus, OH

Research Interests

I develop new methods in Machine Learning, Signal Processing and Human Computer Interaction to make new tools for understanding and manipulating sound. Ongoing research in the lab is applied to audio scene labeling, audio source separation, inclusive interfaces, new audio production tools and machine audition models that learn without supervision. For current projects please see my lab website at music.eecs.northwestern.edu
